Hydrocele Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Risk factors. The primary risk factor leading to a hydrocele in infants is a premature birth. When it comes to older males, there are a few other risk factors to take into consideration. One such consideration is age as a hydrocele is more likely to develop in men who are over 40. Another one of these factors is harm done to the scrotum area, such as getting kicked in the groin. Infections, such as sexually transmitted diseases; and radiation therapy, such as that used to remedy cancer, are also risk factors of a hydrocele.
