Hydrocele Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Symptoms. The primary symptom of a hydrocele is an enlarged scrotum which does not produce any pain or discomfort. In a few incidences, particularly in adult males, the amount of swelling can cause a considerable amount of annoyance as it could interfere significantly with walking. Accordingly, it might generate an intense amount of strain on the testicles, as well as the spermatic vessels resulting in an adverse effect on the reproductive system. If sudden or extreme pain occurs within the scrotum, this could be an indication of a separate condition known as testicular torsion. That is a condition in which the testicles have become twisted after an accident or injury. Testicle torsion is a serious condition that requires immediate treatment. If you suspect this condition in yourself or your child, seed medical attention immediately.
