Symptoms
In many cases, this type of aneurysm does not cause symptoms when it is small. It tends to grow slowly, so detecting them can be difficult.

Not all abdominal aortic aneurysms will rupture. Many of these aneurysms will start and remain small. However, some can get bigger with time. Some of these aneurysms will expand quickly. It is very difficult to determine how fast an abdominal aortic aneurysm will expand. As this aneurysm gets larger, the following symptoms are possible:
- Constant, deep pain in the side of the abdomen or center of the abdomen
- The naval has a pulsating feeling
- Back pain
If an abdominal aortic aneurysm ruptures, the following symptoms are possible:
- Intense, persistent and sudden back or abdominal pain
- Sweating
- Dizziness
- Vomiting
- Fast pulse
- Pain going into the legs or back
- Clamminess
- Nausea
- Low blood pressure
