Understanding Plantar Fasciitis and the Symptoms, Causes and Treatment Options

Symptoms. The most obvious and common symptom of plantar fasciitis presents itself as a sharp pain that appears to shoot from the heel. It’s often most noticeable and most painful in the morning when a person gets out of their bed for the first time. Specifically, it’s most obvious when a person stands up after a long period of time sitting down. Someone getting up to get off a plane after a long flight, someone who gets out of a car after a long drive, or someone who took a long nap might notice extreme pain following those activities, too. Another symptom is pain that occurs after exercise. It’s common for people to believe their pain will become worse during physical activity, but it does not become worse until following this activity.
