Signs and symptoms. Unlike candida in women, men rarely experience symptoms of yeast infection. However, this does not rule out the occurrence of symptoms. These symptoms include irritation and itchiness, burning sensation during urination, visible lesions on the foreskin, pain during sexual intercourse, small rash with white patches that possibly contain pus, pain, and redness at the head of the penis, white foul-smelling discharge that impersonates cottage cheese. There may be difficulty pulling back the foreskin owing to the pain. The head of the penis may also have a shiny, glazed appearance.
